Freshmen Say Aloha To New Beginnings

Freshman year can be quite nerve wracking; the transition from middle school to high school and adjusting to an entirely different campus can be quite stress inducing for these incoming high schoolers.
Luckily for the class of 2022,  a luau was held to properly introduce the freshman class to Heritage and give them a chance to socialize with their class and link crew leaders.
“It was super energetic, the freshman class came alive, so many people were laughing and having a good time,” stated Gino Guardo (9)
This energy was carried throughout the night. Many of the freshman felt comfortable enough to partake in different activities; whether it was dancing or hula hooping there was something for everybody. One of the most notable activities was swimming. Students got to use the diving board and some people increased the fun by doing chicken fights.
“Hands down my favorite memory was when my friend pushed me into the pool,” expressed Hope Smallwood (9).
Not only was the pool ingrained in people’s memories, but also the snow cones. These snow cones gave the freshman the fuel they needed to get through the rest of the social.    However, some students found the price point to be a little unnecessary.
” It was kind of pricey for the size of the snow cone they were offering. Also I wish there were a little bit more options for food,”  explained Alexa Ancheta (9).
Nonetheless, the luau was a great experience for everyone and kicked off freshman year with amazing memories.
