The Magic of Christmas Spirit
As Christmas draws closer and magic is in the air, the Elf on the Shelf appears, causing mischief and joy for all the little ones.
Every year, kids across the country wake up on December 1st to find their own personal elf hiding around the house with a watchful eye. These elves are Santa’s helpers, watching the kids during the day and reporting to Santa at night.
The elves run on Christmas spirit and the belief in Santa, so the more Christmas spirit, the more fun they have. They cause mischief around the house after they come back from seeing Santa for kids to wake up to!
Karlee Lywandowsky, a seventh-grader at Adam’s Middle School, “I loved finding her every morning, it was a little adventure every day”
Whether it be wrapping the Christmas tree with toilet paper, riding on the back of the dog, or making a mess with sprinkles, the Elf is always causing trouble.
“Our Elf always loved to hide in the tree and wrap it with toilet paper, or put underwear all over it. It got pretty funny,” Lywandowsky said.
Parents even have the ability to go out and buy pets for the house elves, giving them a friend for the holidays. Sets of clothes are also available at local stores such as Target, Barnes and Nobles, and Kohls.
Even better, the elf on the shelf can take letters back to Santa. All that needs to be done is:
- Buy a set of letters at one of the stores mentioned above
- Write the letter to Santa
- Put it in the kitchen oven to press and shrink to elf size
- Leave the letter out for your elf on the shelf to take to Santa
Either in the morning or a few days later, the elf should be back with the letter. The small elf sized letter is now ready to be hung on the tree as a keepsake ornament!
Causing mischief and mess, the Elf on The Shelf is both fun and a great way to feel the Christmas magic in the air.
