Spooks & Scares: The Warehouse
“DON’T GO IN!”
That phrase echoes in the background as you escape the cold and enter The Warehouse. You might have escaped the frigid outside, but what you just encountered gives you more chills than the freezing air behind those doors.
400 Guthrie Lane is Brentwood’s newest Halloween attraction. The Warehouse, a seemingly harmless warehouse during the day, is transformed into a party for the paranormal at promptly 7pm. The line may be relatively long but it’s definitely worth it.
This haunted house is a 5 minute journey full of twists and turns. While navigating this location, the story of a little girl who went missing in 1869 is told. The haunted house workers aren’t allowed to touch you, but that doesn’t stop them from doing everything else to terrify the visitors.
“I came out of there out of breath. I was in the front the whole time so things kept jumping out at me” said Abby Sullivan (11).
Sydney Pratt (11) went through as well, but stayed in the back the whole time. That may have not been a good idea since not only do the creatures jump out at you, they also follow behind whispering creepy chants and inhuman noises.
“One of the workers, like, snorted in my ear? They kept whispering weird stuff, it was so disturbing,” said Pratt after completing the house.
The Warehouse started out in a Brentwood resident’s house. They had set up the haunted house every year at their home, but last year they got over 400 visitors and realized their house couldn’t handle that many people. This year they looked into and rented a storehouse and converted it into a hair-raising residence.
The Warehouse is open 7pm -10:30pm on Fridays and 6pm to 10:30pm on Saturdays the whole month of October. The cost is $10 to enter. If you missed it this year, keep your eye out for next year!
