3 DIY Projects to Make Quarantine More Tolerable

If you have been sucked into watching Tik Toks over and over again, there’s a chance you have seen videos of the viral whipped coffee trend. If you are looking for the perfect recipe, you have come to the right place!
Whipped Coffee Directions:
1. Mix a tablespoon of instant coffee, water, and sugar each.
2. Whisk the mixture till it becomes a light tan color and has a frothy whipped consistency.
3. For iced whipped coffee, pour the mixture into a glass of ice water or ice milk. If you want hot whipped coffee, pour the mixture into a glass of warm water or milk. Enjoy!
DIY Terrarium Directions:
1. Choose a container for your terrarium. Remember that it has to be big enough to fit a few plants, so it is best to go for a larger glass container (i.e. a fishbowl or large candy jar).
2. Form a “drainage layer”. Place a layer of gravel, small stones, broken pottery, or moss at the bottom of the container in order to “promote drainage”.
3. Place a layer of charcoal on top of the drainage layer and then place a layer of soil (depending on what kind of plants you would like in your terrarium) over the charcoal.
4. Choose your plants and plant them inside the terrarium. Be conscious of space and vegetation. Make sure you maintain your terrarium and voila! Your very own eco-system.
When it comes to staying inside all day, it’s likely you have become bored with your decor and have rearranged furniture in your house 80 times. If you want to create your own decorations but don’t have a lot of supplies, you can use recycled materials to make cardboard vases that hold fake flowers that stay “fresh” all year long.
Cardboard Vase Directions:
1. Draw shapes of vases on cardboard and cut out two identical pieces of cardboard.
2. Cut out strips of cardboard long enough to go around each vase, leaving the top open.
3. Hot glue the pieces of together or use shipped tape in case it is difficult.
4. Paint vases however you want!
Through quarantine can be rage-inducing, it never hurts to make the most out of a rough situation. These crafts may not solve any world problems, but they can help cure quarantine blues.
