Outside Lands, a festival in San Francisco, took place on Saturday August 11th and 12th, from
8:40 am to 9:55 PM, which brought together all types of people through various genres of music.
This 3-day experience featured many popular artists some including Megan Thee Stallion,
Cigarettes after sex, Baebadoobee, Venus and the flytraps, Lovejoy, Foofighter, and Lana Del
Rey, who was a crowd favorite. The overall feedback on this festival was overwhelmingly
positive.
“Outlandia was the best planned and executed festival l’ve ever gone to. From the line up, to
the food and drink options, to the festival ground itself. Everything was amazing. Can’t wait to
see what you have in store for us next year! I’II be there and tell everyone about Outlandia! It’s
kinda perfect,” said Scott H, an online fan.
Many thought the highlight of the festival was Lana Del Rey’s performance. These dedicated
fans described their experience as magical and a night that will not soon be forgotten.
“Seeing her beauty in real life made me really happy… her voice, her lyrics, her lyricism is
very good, her face is very beautiful, and her voice just speaks to me on a different level,” said
David Arnone (11).
He described the night as one filled with awe and anticipation in hopes of Lana Del Rey
performing his favorite songs.
Arnone described the stage as very impressive and the opening as show stopping. His favorite
moment was when Lana Del Rey sang Arcadia because he was the only one in his area who
poured his heart out into the song.
The overall vibe of the festival was extremely fun to watch for Arnone and all the dedicated
fans
“It was nice to see a bunch of Lana Del Rey fans, and everyone there was actually extremely
nice, and they were all very welcoming,” said Keira Shurin (11).
Due to this inclusive atmosphere, she made amazing friends who shared the same interests as
her.
During the performance there were many memorable moments. Shurin explained how her
experience exceeded her expectations because she was closer to the stage than she originally had
thought, which made the experience even more magical. One downside was that the Foofighters
were performing at the same time as Lana Del Rey, which did not allow her to see both
performers.
A surprise guest performer, Conan Grey, performed his infamous song, Heather.
Unfortunately, while he was performing a girl fainted, stopping the entire performance.
“I was actually very disappointed because he stopped my favorite song,” said Shurin (11).
Despite this, the festival was a big hit and both Arnone and Shurin hope to be able to see her
perform again.
