A historical senior night was a success for the Girls Flag Football team. It is the first-year flag football that has been introduced to Heritage
High, which lends itself to an exceptionally special celebration.
Brooklyn Porter (12) says that the event was a night to remember, with all the memorable
memories she made with her friends and family, as well as how beautifully the event was made.
“The good energy and the vibes were my favorite part because we were all just hanging out as
a team and the decorations were amazing,” said Porter.
She loved the energy the people brought to the event which made her feel welcomed and
encouraged to be a part of that community. She loved the decorations and how much effort the
community put into the event to further enhance the experience.
Kayla Marino (12) understand the importance of being on the first flag football team for the Patriots.
“Being able to be the first to play flag football is great especially being at the first senior night
being held for that sport,” said Marino.
She believed that this senior night was special because flag football is a new sport that was
added to heritage recently, which doubled the excitement for her. She was able to try out a new
sport and she ended up enjoying the sport and the senior night that was held. She later added that
if she changed something about the senior night, she would.
“I would change what time it started because it started at 6:00 pm which was an ideal time no
one would go, so there were fewer people there,” stated Marino.
Besides the time it started she said she really enjoyed the night and had fun with her friends
and family.
Grace Hernandez (12) loved the fact that she had the opportunity to try something new that she
had never tried.
“What influenced me to try out was being able to try something new and I thought it was really
cool especially since it’s the first season of this sport ever at heritage,” Hernandez claimed.
This further influenced her to try out and play flag football, which gave her an opportunity to
make new friends on the team and create memorable memories along the way. Later she reveals
that flag football is not hard to learn and it is a good sport for beginners.
“It’s very fun and it’s not a difficult sport to learn, and the environment which you play in is
very inclusive and friendly,” said Hernandez.
Flag football senior night held a special place in the athletes hearts, especially
since it is a brand-new sport being introduced.
