High school alone can be a challenging period of time for some, from a constant workload to a
prom date. This is no problem to the Heritage High School senior, Jennalyn Mejia. Mejia (12) is a full time student athlete at Heritage. Apart from excelling in the classroom, you can find Mejia (12) on the pool deck playing water polo. Mejia can do anything she puts her mind to, especially with her great support system. When out of school, you can find Mejia focused on arranging floral bouquets. The flowers she uses are sourced from local Brentwood farms. Mejia dreams to start growing her own flowers in the future.
She runs a custom floral business which has just started flourishing as a result of her supporters. Mejia credits both her parents for supporting her every move. Mejia explains that she’s learned how to balance her extracurriculars with her studies at a very young age because her parents have put her through many sports growing up.
“I’ve pretty much gotten used to it because ever since I was young, my parents have put me in
many extracurriculars and it has always been on me to keep up with my school work,” explained
Mejia.
This business is definitely something Mejia (12) would want to continue post high school, where she plans on attending a 4 year University in Southern California to pursue a major in Aerospace Engineering. The water polo and entrepreneur superstar will definitely be making it in the books with her phenomenal work ethic that she has acquired at a very young age and her amazing support system of friends and family.
