2023 was filled with big moments in entertainment, tv, music and media in general. With two big tours this year. Beyoncé and Taylor Swift swept the globe with their catchy pop songs, hoping from stadium to stadium. Both tours released theater movie live concert experiences
where fans who couldn’t pay to go to the tour could come and sing their favorite songs.
In tv, the SAG-AFTRA strike took many of our favorite shows away from the scenes and many release dates were pushed back to 2025. Many celebrities spoke out and showed up to protest outside big studio buildings to command their attention to the issues at hand underpayment and exploitation of actors and people in the industry. Many other strikes happened for businesses in the
hotel, writing, and heath care industries.
Rihanna also made big headlines this year with her second pregnancy with her new baby Riot Rose. Being pregnant didn’t stop her from doing the half time Super Bowl show with her amazing voice and vocals. Her background dancers wore white two pieces and she wore a bright cherry
red jumpsuit.
Movies this year were iconic, with eye candy like “Barbie”, directed by Greta Gerwig. The release of “Oppenheimer” at the same time left both fighting for box office superiority. People took to social media creating the hashtag barbenheimer. Both films were amazing in the theaters.
In other news, Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released from prison after serving 8 out of 10 year sentence. Blanchard was put behind bars after her online boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, murdered her
mother Dede Blanchard so they could run away. Gypsy Rose was met with so much support online with hashtags, and posts supporting her release on December 27, 2023. She is married to her husband Ryan Addison whom she met in prison. Blanchard is now happy that she’s finally out and free, starting to live a more normal life in Louisiana.
2023 was a great year filled with so many memories; let’s hope to see more in 2024.
