For Heritage High School students, the start of their two week spring break was on March 23rd. During those two weeks, students are given the time to catch up on some sleep, travel or even work extra hours at their job. As long as a two week break sounds, the time flew by really fast.
Many students spent their break at home relaxing without having homework or tests to be stressed out about. After all the school projects and heavy workload students persevere through, the thought of being able to stay home and decompress for two weeks sounds so relaxing.
“After spending the last few weeks studying for my AP Psych test, I took the chance to unwind and watch a few new movies I haven’t seen yet during my break,” said Walter Matthews (11).
Other students had the opportunity to travel out of state for a few days and explore new places. With this time of vacation, students were able to spend more time with their families and close loved ones.
“I went to Wisconsin with my parents to visit my sister and it was really fun being able to see her and explore her town by thrifting and shopping,” said Ashleigh Stone (11).
For some students who work jobs after school, spring break meant to them more scheduled hours at work. They got the chance to work morning and afternoon shifts during the week to earn extra hours and money.
“During break, I took the opportunity to pick up extra shifts throughout the week at my job to earn more money,” said Natalia Gamboa (11).
Spring break is a much needed time for students to do numerous things like shopping, spending time with family, resting, working, traveling, etc, and is valuable to all students. Now starts the countdown till our next six week summer break. 52 more days left!
