As the 2024 school year comes to an school end, many end-of-year events for seniors are beginning. One of these events is the annual game of senior assassins. Senior assassins is a game where students choose teams consisting of four to six players and work together to eliminate other teams using Nerf or Orbeez guns.
The game started on March 4th, 2024, and will end when there are two final teams standing, who will go against each other in the final round. The rounds reset each week. They begin on Mondays and end on Sundays at 11:59 pm.
When signing up each participant was required to pay $5 to the game master. The grand prize at stake is $1,140.10, which will be gifted to the winning team.
“I would probably go out to eat with my team at BJ’s to get pizookies and enjoy our success,” said Maya Garcia (12).
The rules and regulations were posted to an Instagram account for the game, and the person who runs the account remains anonymous.
“I became interested when I watched last year’s class do it; they looked like they had fun so I thought I might as well do it this year,” said the 2024 account owner.
Some players had complaints about how the game was organized or the way “kills” are determined.
“Disagreements are usually disputed with polls and any sort of 2nd opinion,” said the owner of the Assassins Instagram account.
Safety has become a concern among players and individuals involved with the game. Many players have found themselves in disagreements with other players and teams causing arguments and drama.
“I handle disagreements with other players by being respectful and following the rules,” said Nathaniel Little (12).
Senior assassins was a fun way to end the school year and will make senior year memorable for the class of 2024.
