What once was the viral event of 2016-2018 has made its relevance once again this year. Coachella is one of the most famous music festivals in America that celebrities, influencers and anyone who pays the minimum of $500 per ticket can attend. It’s mostly known for its marketing of the musical line up or the iconic outfits influencers wear.
The artists headlining this year were Lana Del Rey, Peso Pluma, Lil Uzi Vert, Sabrina Carpenter, Young Miko and Jack Glam. Many Coachella fans believe that this lineup has to be one of their best to come so far, because it will be Lana Del Rey’s second return as a headliner for Coachella after her first performance ten years ago.
Another reason many people were excited for this year’s line up is because it is Sabrina Carpenter’s first time performing at Coachella. She’s recently risen to fame very quickly within the last few years as she released her first album last year and opened for Taylor Swift’s European tour. What really strikes the media is her social performance skills. She has made a lot of changes in her style of outfits and makeup recently, so fans were excited to see her look for Coachella.
Beside the main stage, there’s other performances happening all over Coachella. Smaller stages are occupied by smaller artists to make sure there is always music entertaining the crowds. Some of these smaller artists were Suki Waterhouse, Chappell Roan, Faye Webster, The Japanese House, and many more.
Apart from the entertainment aspect of this event, many critics have expressed negative thoughts about the food and beverages sold at Coachella. The prices skyrocketed this year at a solid price of $10 per cup of coffee. A full meal such as a turkey burger and french fries was $33. However, even for the wide variety of food available, the prices far outweighed the selection.
“This $16 grilled cheese was the most disappointing meal we’ve ever had at the festival,” said The Business Insider.
This year’s Coachella has definitely made its mark in the social media scene with its surprising musical success and outrageous food prices. However, there’s no doubt we’ll see every celebrity posting about it again next year despite any negative publicity surrounding Coachella.
