Cross Country hyped to be together for another season
We’re running up on cross country season! Our cross country team is excited to start off their season and take on new terrain. The team has been practicing and preparing in their pre-season to compete and do well in their competitions and hopefully win the league title this year.
The team is excited to be back together and helping each other to come together and win the title. The family dynamic is outstanding even though it is an individual sport, they all try to work together to better each other.
“I’m excited to be back with my team and take on this challenge with them. Even though we are all running separately we really feel like a family, and we all try to contribute to one another’s success,” Maddie Vanderheid-Nye (12) said.
Most cross country runners run to prepare for track and field, so many of the runners on the team are versatile and can run both long distance and sprints.
“Cross country is a great way for me to physically train for track season later on in the school year. Cross training helps me build endurance and speed so that I can better myself and the team. The team is looking pretty nice this year since no one really takes an “off season,” Aaron Hanible (12) said.
Our cross country team is ready to begin their journey through the season and take on the battle of beating the other schools in meets and winning the league title.
