When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.

A recent Twitter poll of Heritage High School students found that 45% selected the Netflix Original Series Stranger Things as their favorite tv drama.

The show, created by The Duffer Brothers, is a sci-fi, supernatural, horror, mystery, and historical period drama.  Heritage students love it.

“It’s really really amazing 100%. I’d watch it again in a heartbeat,” said Megan Vallee (12).

According to Rottentomatoes.com, “Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.”

Most reviews of Stranger Things list it as a 9/10. At the beginning of the season, the viewer cannot be completely sure what is going on. It hints at something mysterious, but it does not go into detail. Later on, you have a classic cliché of a confidential government secret, in this case experiments that the main characters discover.

The results of the experiment lead to two things, a girl with psychic powers, named Eleven, and a monster called a Demogrogon. These two things play a major part in undercovering the mystery of the missing boy Will. Without wanting to spoil too much, the end is unsatisfying for various reasons. It leaves the viewer hanging off the edge of the cliff, wondering what is next to come.

“I thought it was really good and well thought out. I didn’t know I would like that kind of show. But overall, I loved how the scenes played out. 9/10,” said Matthew D’Amico (12).

Overall, if you are not a fan of horror or supernatural phenomenon, this Stranger Things is NOT for you. If you want a quick watch (there is only 8 episodes in the first season) and enjoy the supernatural and horror, this show is for you. My final rating of this show is 9.5/10. Most show views, including myself, are waiting for the next season to come in 2017.
