Christmas Traditions

No matter how cold the winter gets, the joy that comes during the holidays can make everyone feel warm.

Families all over join in on traditions whether it is going to movies on Christmas morning or going to church in Christmas Eve. Many favorite memories are made up of family traditions.

“One of my favorite Christmas traditions is opening up one gift on Christmas Eve because I love how excited everyone gets about it” (Anika Yoder 12)

There are some things, during Christmas time, that most families participate in like decorating a Christmas tree and having stockings.

“My family and I get a wrapped Christmas tree every year that is a surprise and every year we find that it’s really nice” (Kelly Balaban 12).

Many families have more than one tradition when it comes to Christmas.

“We also have a Christmas Eve party every year where everyone wears pajamas which is always really fun” (Kelly Balaban 12).

“I always do secret Santa with my sisters and it’s always really exciting to see if all of our separate predictions were right on who got which person. It’s funny watching everyone guess” (Kayla Henry 10).

There are many different traditions when it comes to the Holidays and it’s important to remember that not everyone celebrates the same things. However, there is the common theme that the holidays bring a time to love, thanks, and celebrate important values or beliefs.
