During this quarantined state, many are stuck at home. This is the perfect time to start baking. Also, there are so many desserts to choose from, which can be difficult to choose from. Here are a couple of recipes that can spark some new and fun flavors!
Brownies can be super easy, but to spice things up a bit, there are chocolate chip cookie brownies. The ingredients call for:
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
After you get all your ingredients here are the directions: Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9-in. square baking pan with foil, letting ends extend up sides; grease foil. In a microwave, melt butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Stir in sugar and cocoa. Add eggs, 1 at a time, whisking to blend after each addition. Add flour; stir just until combined. Stir in nuts. Spread into prepared pan. Bake 15 minutes. Meanwhile, for chocolate chip layer, melt butter in another microwave-safe bowl. Stir in brown sugar. Whisk in egg. In a small bowl, whisk flour and baking soda; stir into butter mixture just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon mixture over the hot brownie layer. Bake 35-40 minutes longer or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Lifting foil, remove brownies from pan. Cut into bars.

Another recipe that can be fun to bake when stuck at home is Mini Mable Cinnamon Rolls.
The ingredients, this time, call for
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons bread flour
  • 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 to 2 teaspoons whole milk
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
After getting all the ingredients here are the next steps to get your Mini Mable Cinnamon: In bread machine pan, place the first seven ingredients in order suggested by the manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or bread flour if needed). When the cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Roll into two 12×7-in. rectangles. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle half over each rectangle. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting from a long side; pinch seam to seal. Cut each roll into 12 slices. Place cut side down in one greased 13×9-in. baking pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 20 minutes. Bake at 375° until golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the confectioners’ sugar, butter, syrup, and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Spread over warm rolls.
