At our multicultural rally, seniors get together to celebrate the last chapter of their high school journey. It’s a celebration of differences and unity. The school comes together at the end of the year to honor the diverse cultures that make up our school, packed with memories and excitement for the future. Seniors say goodbye to their school with an appreciation for inclusivity and togetherness, creating an impact of gratitude, embracing everyone.
Our senior Hip Hop Club president considers the deep meaning of their last performance as his time ends. Every rally he performed, his creative talents combined with his responsibilities as president, established the heart of the club’s identity.
“My last performance as president was significant because it was my last chance to further solidify my impact on the club and school and cementing my legacy in the club,” said Jeremiah Flores (12).
“Of course, I wanted it to look as good as it could be, but since I knew it was my last, I wanted to really soak it in and enjoy it. I did not want my experience tainted by my perfectionist tendencies, and I really think that free spirit that I tried to embody really showed in the performance,” said Flores.
For the senior president of the Latinos Unidos Club, the yearly performance is always looked forward to with joy and anticipation. It is a much-loved opportunity to recognize solidarity and cultural heritage. Every year, the club’s celebration and inclusivity goal has increased by this special chance to perform in front of the entire school, which fills members with a sense of anticipation.
“The multicultural rally is my favorite performance. I get very excited every year to perform in front of the school alongside fellow club members,” said Olivia Miranda (12).
“It took a lot of patience to teach the choreography. I and the other choreographers worked together to teach each dancer individually and to tend to their needs,” said Miranda.
For Elysse Magat (12), learning two different dances and performing them for the very last time was challenging and rewarding. Magat took advantage of the final year of high school to showcase her creativity for Hip Hop and Poly Club.
“It was hard managing my time and what to practice on once the rally got closer, but it wasn’t as stressful as I thought it would be before that. I tried to get the dances for poly club done earlier, and I took a lot of time to mentally prepare myself for all these dances before practices started.” said Magat.
“It was very bittersweet going into the rally knowing it was my last, but it really helped me put my all into each performance. No matter how tired I was, I wanted my last to be my best and I wanted to be happy with what I left,” said Magat.
Overcoming the challenges of mastering dances for the multicultural rally as a senior in high school was shown to be rewarding and showed strength and commitment. All the hard work paid off for yet another successful multicultural rally.
