This year’s senior banquet was held on April 10th at the Brentwood Community Center. The event was catered by Brentwood Fine Meats. Senior banquet gives students an opportunity to reflect on the past four years together. It’s a great way to celebrate graduating together; it is like a recap of your entire senior year.
At the banquet, the first activity that we did was senior citizen bingo. I liked the concept of this game because we are seniors and bingo is usually played by senior citizens. If you won a bingo game, there were multiple prizes you could get such as gift cards, plushies, and even a free ticket to prom. Everyone was casual about this game until we found out there would be a free prom ticket, then everyone got competitive. Contestants had to know facts about the school to mark off bingo squares.
The next game we played was HHS trivia. This game was based on the raffle tickets that we put our names on at the beginning of the banquet. Ms. Klinger and Mr. Guerro would pick out names from the raffle tickets, and students would get called up to the front to be asked a trivia question about our school. If they won a trivia question, there were multiple prizes they could choose from. This game was fun unless you did not know the answer to the question.
The next activity we did was the senior superlatives. This was the highlight of the banquet because everyone found out who won the titles that were voted for. It was nice seeing people be happy or surprised over the titles that they won. Seeing names be called and friends cheering for them was heartwarming. Everyone sitting with anticipation for the names to be called was so fun, and I wish I could relive that moment.
The very last activity we did was watch our senior recap video. I loved watching the video because it showed pictures and videos from all throughout the year, starting from senior sunrise. It really made me realize how fast this year has gone by, and all the memories I have made throughout this fun year.
Senior banquet is worth going to for your senior year. All the activities and games were super fun, and it was wonderful to enjoy it with your classmates and friends. Seeing my friends and classmates get awards and win trivia and bingo games was so fun. Senior banquet was something I will never forget.
