Water polo sets goal to be undefeated

Splashing their way into the new season, the water polo team wants to go undefeated, like every other sports team, but this time they will make dreams become reality.

“Our biggest goal as a team is to be undefeated in league and beat the other teams by at least ten or so points, depending on the team,” Peter Hockel (12) said.

Although it is very important to have strong goals for the team, it’s great for players to have individual goals to contribute as a whole to the entire team. Once players work on a goal for themselves for the season, it helps the entire team, because they’re working together to get better. Players often take the things they know are hard to do, yet mandatory for the game, and work extremely hard on those.

“The hardest thing about water polo is the physical aspect of the game, you have to tread water constantly while being pushed down and kicked off of by the other team. A personal goal is that I want to work my hardest towards helping my team do their very best throughout the season,” Izzy Strimling (11) said.
